Okay Temiz has always dreamed of establishing a “Rhythm School” where he would share all the knowledge he gained throughout his musical career with people who love rhythm and would like to gain a thorough training on this.

His first step that would later become the basis of this project was taken in 1972, when he founded the “Rhythm Workshops” in Sweden. He continued his deeds in these workshops with a great range of people extending from nursery school children to university students and adults. The workshops he established for spastic children in 1974, in Sweden started to be held in Finland as from 1990 and continued for five years.

“Rhythm Workshops” in Turkey started two years ago with a small group in Kemer Country. Later on, rhythm lovers came together at the Borusan Culture Center under the sponsorhip of Borusan. Temiz then continued his works at various venues such as Babylon, Ada Music, Fatih Education Park, Aksanat and Hayal Kahvesi. Okay Temiz and the Rhythm Group still continues to work in different places.

Okay Temiz and his students share the warm feeling and the echoes obtained through the direct contact of the hand with a “skin to skin” instrument. In these workshops, Temiz tries to introduce his students of different ages, different educational backgrounds and professions, with all sorts of rhythm instruments and let the rhythm within them pour out.
